We will visit the most famous buildings in Florence, the homes of the grand dukes: Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti.
- Palazzo Vecchio was the centre of political power in Florence from the Middle Ages and the first residence of the grand dukes, starting with Cosimo I de' Medici. We will visit the spectacular Salone dei 500 [Hall of 500] and the sumptuous apartments of Cosimo I and his wife Eleonora from Toledo, which are decorated with frescos.
