Farm holidays in San Gimignano

An ancient fortress going back to the 11th century, framed by the hills of Val d’Elsa and a short distance from San Gimignano, Castello di Fulignano farmhouse is part of the history of Tuscany: its rooms have given hospitality to monks and feudal lords on pilgrimage as they travelled along via Francigena.

Thanks to a painstaking renovation, which kept its distinctive atmosphere while providing it with all modern comforts, the castle has been transformed into a splendid resort, providing an enchanting stay for all those who dream of a refined and elegant holiday.

Composed of twelve apartments, furnished in the style of the 1700’s, Castello di Fulignano farm holidays has a large dining room where excellent dinners prepared by our chef Francesco can be organised.

A superb 10 x 20 metre swimming pool, which overlooks the towers of San Gimignano, allows all those couples in search of romanticism to fully enjoy their stay at the castle.

Location

Fulignano Castle stands on a hill overlooking the Val d'Elsa, a few kilometers from San Gimignano, 35 km from Siena and 54 km from Florence.

With car

From Florence in 50 minutes:
Once in Florence, take the A1 motorway towards Rome;
Exit at Firenze Certosa and take the Firenze-Siena towards Siena;
Exit at Poggibonsi Nord and at the roundabout follow the signs to San Gimginano.
Past two roundabouts turn right onto Cusona.
After about 1.5 km you reach a crossroads and must follow the directions for Casaglia.
After 3 km you will reach the Castle Fulignano.

From Siena in 40 minutes:
Take the Siena-Florence, in the direction of Florence;
Exit at Poggibonsi Nord and at the roundabout follow the signs to San Gimginano.
Pass two roundabouts turn right onto Cusona.
After about 1.5 km you reach a crossroads and must follow the directions for Casaglia.
After 3 km you will reach the Castle Fulignano.
