Casale Donatello, an old farmhouse, is the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the middle of the Classic Chianti area near the town of Siena. It is part of Villa Arceno, an old XVIII century villa surrounded by sixteen hectares of land. It is a typical example of a Tuscan nobleman’s residence with an annexed agricultural holding.
This recently renovated ‘casale’ (farmhouse) with an elegant, country style, can sleep six people. The owner wanted to offer guests the chance to stay in a house with character – a character a bit like his own. He loves travelling, art and gastronomy, in tune with the pleasures of XVIII century life in the villa.
Guests staying in the farmhouse can enjoy pleasant outings in the vineyards and woods surrounding the villa, which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Tasting sessions can be organised in the winery and guests have exclusive access to the XVIII century park (16 hectares).
The property is in an ideal location, not too far from the town of Siena, Val d’Orcia (Orcia Valley) with Montalcino (where Brunello wine is produced) and the coast, with beaches and the sea. Outings to the Chianti area near Siena and Florence are easy to organise.
The property has its own large garden (2,000 sq.m.). English roses (that the owner loves) are grown in part of it. There are a large number of aromatic plants, officinal plants and sage.
There are two garden tables with chairs, deck chairs and a sun-umbrella.
There is a large pergola with wisteria growing over it, which makes it perfect for eating outside.
